John Gleason has called the coastal range west of Paso Robles home for three decades. In 2010, after twenty years of witnessing the area transition into one of the most celebrated wine grape growing and winemaking geographies in the world, he decided to work on creating his own style and interpretation of wine from our "sweet part of the planet". Collaborating with renowned viticulturist Neil Roberts of Roberts Vineyard Services and Clavo Cellars, the duo produced the first vintage of Two Moons. Since then, John has partnered with Brette Womack, Central Coast wine and hospitality professional, as well as Natalie Darr Brown, acclaimed up and coming female winemaker. Their aim is to create Rhone blends that express incredible balance and agibility. This is achieved by excellence in vineyard selection, neutral cooperage, and lower alcohols that best express the quality of our local terroir. The brand is always centered around the trio's obsession with yoga and we invite you to "flow with us."
The Two Moons label's genesis stems from John's witnessing the moon and it's reflection as it set over the Pacific on a still evening. There is no record or knowledge of how much "market research" John had been doing that evening, but he was sure enough of the event the next morning to bestow the name "Two Moons" on his westside mountain ranch.
Each of our wines are named for human conditions or states of being. Each name, like each wine, is subject to an individual's interpretation. We invite you to indulge in these wines while enjoying a bit of soul searching. Namaste!
